About Us

The National Association of Film Critics was founded in 2018 by a group of film critics dedicated to recognizing film as an important art form and promoting the expression of opinion concerning film. Our initiatives include a yearly awards ceremony to recognize excellence in cinema, exploring the history of cinema, and sharing the opinions of our members on recent events in film.

Our members, American film critics  with a variety of affiliations, have chosen to remain anonymous in order to keep our reviews and awards as impartial as possible. We hope this organization will succeed in inspiring a love of film and enriching the cinematic experiences of all Americans.
